Colour Theory for Tanning: Understand the principles of color theory as they apply to tanning, including how to choose the right shade for different skin tones to achieve a natural and flattering result.
Tanning Brands: Learn about various tanning brands and products available on the market, including their unique features, benefits, and how to select the best products for different client needs.
Tan Application Techniques: Master the techniques for applying a flawless tan, including the correct use of equipment and products to ensure an even, streak-free finish on all skin types.
Tanning Intimate Areas: Gain expertise in tanning intimate areas with precision and care, ensuring client comfort and achieving an even, natural-looking result.
Pre and Aftercare: Understand the importance of pre-tan preparation and aftercare, providing clients with advice to prolong their tan and maintain optimal skin health.
Hygiene and Infection Control: Learn hygiene and infection control practices specific to tanning to maintain a clean and safe environment, preventing cross-contamination and ensuring client safety.
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S): Implement OH&S practices to ensure a safe workspace for both the practitioner and the client during the tanning process.
Client Consultation: Develop skills for conducting thorough client consultations to assess skin type, preferences, and any contraindications, ensuring a personalized tanning experience.

PREREQUISITES

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Certificate

You'll receive an Adelaide Beauty Academy certificate of completion upon successfully passing your final assessment.

On the day

Please wear black clothes, enclosed shoes and your hair up (if possible). You can bring lunch but most of our students go across the road to get lunch at Subway, Café Primo or Sushi Train.

Models

We recommend getting different models so you can practice on different body shapes.

Below are the model times:

Model 1: 11:30am – 11:45am

Model 2: 11:45am – 12:00pm

Model 3: 12:00pm – 12:15pm

Model 4: 12:15pm – 12:30pm

Model 5: 12:30pm – 12:45pm

If you are unable to provide your own models we can assist you, please provide at least one week's notice. We charge an additional fee of $30 per model if we source them for you, but there's no charge if you provide your own models.

Payment

All enrolments must be made online (click on the enrol button). Enrolments require a deposit to secure your seat. The remainder of the payment can be processed through card, cash or bank transfer. We also have Afterpay and Zippay.

Rescheduling

If you reschedule within 24hrs we can move you into the next available class at no cost, if this class date does not suit you and you require an alternative date, you will be charged an administration fee of $100.

Where to next?

After this course you'll be ready to professionally spray tan either from home or in a salon.

Lots of our students then go on to study Makeup, Waxing, and Lash Extensions.

Additional Information

My client has loose skin, can I do a spray tan?

Absolutly, during our spray tanning course we ensure that all our students are trained to cater to all different body types, so you will feel confident to give your client the best service possible.

Why does the base colour matter in spray tan?

The base colour is designed to counteract the body's natural undertone, so for eg, if your client has a pink undertone to their skin, you will want to use a green based spray tan. The green will help to neutralise the pink giving you a bronzed look.

What will I need to purchase after the class to be able to complete a spray tan from home?

Spray tan machine, spray tan tent or booth, dark towels, spray tan solution, disposable g-string, disposable sticky feet, disposable hair nets and tanning mit or kabuki brush.

What is the before care for models?

Client must exfoliate 24hrs before tanning service.

Client must have all waxing must be performed 48 hrs prior to tanning.

Client must have shaving must be done at least 8 hours prior to tanning.

Client must arrive with no perfumes, deodorant or moisturiser on.

It is advised that the client arrive, or bring with them, loose dark clothing as the tan can sometimes transfer onto fabric.
