Face and Full Body Waxing Techniques: Learn comprehensive waxing techniques for the face and full body, utilizing both strip and hot wax methods to achieve smooth, hair-free skin for clients.
Strip Wax vs. Hot Wax: Understand the differences between strip and hot wax, including when and how to use each method for optimal results on different areas of the body and various hair types.
Pre and Post-Waxing Care: Gain knowledge on how to prepare the skin before waxing and provide appropriate aftercare to ensure client comfort and minimize irritation or adverse reactions.
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S): Learn essential OH&S practices to maintain a safe and professional working environment, ensuring both practitioner and client safety during waxing procedures.
Client Consultation: Develop skills for conducting thorough client consultations, assessing skin type and sensitivity to tailor waxing treatments and set appropriate expectations.
Consent Forms and Policies: Understand the importance of consent forms and establish clear policies to ensure clients are informed and protected, fostering trust and professionalism.
Contraindications and Risks: Identify contraindications and assess risks associated with waxing treatments to provide safe, effective services tailored to individual client needs.
Hygiene & Infection Control: Master hygiene and infection control practices to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a sterile environment, minimizing the risk of infection.
Waxing Techniques for Sensitive Areas: Learn specialized techniques for waxing sensitive areas such as the underarms, and face, ensuring client comfort and effective hair removal.
Business of Waxing: Explore key aspects of running a successful waxing business, including marketing strategies, client retention, pricing models, and building a strong brand presence in the industry.

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Certificate

You'll receive an Adelaide Beauty Academy certificate of completion upon successfully passing your final assessment.

On the day

Please wear black clothes, enclosed shoes and your hair up (if possible). You can bring lunch but most of our students go across the road to get lunch at Subway, Café Primo or Sushi Train.

Models

Due to the nature of this course and to protect the integrity of your model’s skin, each model can only be used once throughout the entire duration of the course. Below are the model times:

Day 1:

Model 1: 12:45pm – 3:00pm Demo Brow, Lip, Face, Underarm, Full Leg, Bikini, Full Arm

Model 2: 3:15pm – 5:00pm (Brow, Underarm, Bikini, Face Wax)

Day 2:

Model 3: 10:15am – 12:30pm (Brow, Lip, Face Wax)

Model 4: 1:00pm – 2:30pm (Underarm, Bikini, Half-leg, Half-arm)

If you are unable to provide your own models we can assist you, please provide at least one week's notice. We charge an additional fee of $30 per model if we source them for you, but there's no charge if you provide your own models.

Payment

All enrolments must be made online (click on the enrol button). Enrolments require a deposit to secure your seat. The remainder of the payment can be processed through card, cash or bank transfer. We also have Afterpay and Zippay.

Rescheduling

If you reschedule within 24hrs we can move you into the next available class at no cost, if this class date does not suit you and you require an alternative date, you will be charged an administration fee of $100.

Where to next?

After this course you'll be ready wax professionally, either from home or in a salon.

Lots of our students then go on to study Intimate Waxing, Makeup, Spray Tanning and Lash Extensions.

Additional Information

Do we learn using both types of wax? Yes, we teach using both hot and strip wax (as there are benefits to both).

What do I need to purchase to start waxing?

Wax pots for both hot and strip wax, strip wax, hot wax, wax strips, pre wax, after wax, wax sticks in a variety of sizes, bed roll, disposable hair nets, disposable g-strings, disposable gloves and disposable masks.

We provide everything you need during your class.

What body parts will I learn to wax?

You will learn to wax eyebrows, lip, face, arms, legs, bikini and underarms.

How long should I allow for different body parts?

Eyebrows (30 minutes)

Lip (15 minutes)

Face (45 minutes)

Underarms (30 minutes)

Bikini (30 minutes)

Legs (1.5 hours)

Arms (30 minutes)
