Our Five-Day Facial Fundamentals Course provides a complete foundation in professional facial therapy, designed to give you the confidence and skills to perform advanced skin treatments safely and effectively. You’ll learn the core techniques that every skin therapist needs: from analysing skin types and conditions to prescribing skincare regimens, designing targeted treatment plans, and mastering facial massage techniques.
This course also covers anatomy and physiology of the skin, manual lymphatic drainage, and the application of cosmeceutical skincare products, giving you a solid grounding to build upon with more advanced modalities in the future.
All training at Adelaide Beauty Academy is conducted one-on-one, ensuring you receive personalised support and hands-on experience tailored to your learning style. We’re incredibly flexible, you can spread your sessions over days or weeks, and we can even come to your clinic or salon for convenience.
This course is ideal for those new to the industry or professionals looking to refresh their foundational knowledge. If you already have experience in certain areas, we can customise your course to focus only on what you need.
Please note that Adelaide Beauty Academy is not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Our courses are industry-recognised, designed for real-world application and career growth.

Learn how to recognise skin conditions and types, to prescribe skincare regimes and apply targeted treatment plans. Our students have the luxury of learning how to use and apply pharmaceutical grade cosmeceutical skincare. Our Academy is fully equipped with sophisticated machinery to accommodate and demonstrate a variety of client requirements.
Pre-Requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Certificate
You’ll receive an Adelaide Beauty Academy certificate upon successfully passing your final assessment.
On The Day
Please wear black clothes, enclosed shoes, short tidy nails and wear your hair up (if possible). We have a fridge, kettle and microwave available in the staff room should you wish to bring lunch. There are also many shops across the street from which you can purchase lunch, including Cafe Primo, Subway, Sushi Train and Glynburn Gourmet. Please bring water otherwise we have water available in the staff room.
Models
On each day of the course, you will have ample opportunities to practice the theory and practical components of the course with the guidance and assistance from your educator.
Due to the nature of this course and to protect the integrity of your model’s skin, each model can only be used once throughout the entire duration of the course.
If you are unable to provide your own models we can assist you, please provide at least one week’s notice. We charge an additional fee of $30 per model if we source them for you, but there’s no charge if you provide your own models.
Payment
All enrolments must be made online. Enrolments require a deposit to secure your seat in the class. The remainder of the payment can be processed through card, cash or bank transfer. We also have Afterpay and Zippay.
Rescheduling
If you reschedule 5 days before your course we can move you into the next available class at no additional cost. If this class date does not suit you and you require an alternative date, you will be charged an administration fee of $100.
Where To Next?
After this course you will have gained the knowledge and experience to either work as a Facialist from home or in a salon or spa environment.
